PROSTATE CANCER UK
Keeping FRIENDSHIP ALIVE
Prostate Cancer UK is the UK’s largest men’s health charity, helping more men survive prostate cancer and raising awareness and education about the condition.
The creation of a new responsive website involved not only an extensive redesign but the addition of several new sections including location based services and a dedicated eLearning platform for health professionals. The relaunch also incorporated a complete overhaul of the online community, developed alongside members of the incredibly vocal and active user base.
The relaunch was completed in late 2014.
Driving donations
Focused around the concept of 'Men United' - a call to arms, for men to rally together as a team to tackle the disease, and timed to coincide with a major marketing push and tv campaign, we created bespoke campaign pages for two years running to drive sign-ups and recruit members to help 'keep friendship alive'.
Targets were smashed within days, with 20,000 people arriving from social media channels alone within the first two weeks – an increase of 600 per cent on the normal flow of traffic. In the end, one in four visitors signed up to Men United, with over 200,000 men ended up taking the survey.
Through integrated comms and a monthly email newsletter filled with engaging content the charity sustains the relationship with the new members and drives increased donations through awareness and innovative fundraising ideas.
